Teacher Appreciation Week – Linda Yahr

We have hopefully all been fortunate enough to have at least one teacher that made a positive, memorable impact on our lives. This week, Get More Math is joining the rest of the country in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week to give these incredible men and women the kudos they so richly deserve!

The importance of teachers in the lives of our children can’t be overstated, and we are incredibly lucky to work with amazing educators on a daily basis. Each day this week, we’ll be highlighting a Get More Math teacher who is one of the countless hard-working, dedicated individuals who give their all to ensure their students continue on the path toward a happy, successful, and fulfilling life.

Today, we present Linda Yahr from Owen J. Roberts Middle School. Linda teaches 8th grade Algebra and Geometry, is a Penn State alum, and has been an educator for nine years.

Be sure to check back each day this week to get to know more of the fantastic teachers out there using Get More Math!

Monday: Teacher of the day!

Linda - Why did you become a teacher?

I wanted to share my love of math with children. Teaching is my second career – my degree is in Actuarial Science, and then I was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years.
