Java to Web Transition FAQs

Where can I find Assignment Results?
https://youtu.be/74LsZ2BF1lE

Assignment Results are no longer being reported in GMM. If you want to assign grades based
on completion, we recommend setting a Daily Goal and keeping track using the Points
History report.

The decision to remove the Assignment Results report is in keeping with our primary goal of
promoting long term retention through individualized and cumulative practice. We found
that many teachers were overemphasizing the completion of assignments and relying on the
Assignment Results report.

How about the Split Report?

The Split Report is not available in the Web App. You may check Points History or Points
Distribution for classes or students.

Points History is a report showing all points earned by a student on a given day. Teachers
may adjust the range of dates to view the daily goal and each student’s progress toward
the daily goal.

Points Distribution for a class or a student will also provide a cumulative number of points
earned in practice sets and from Mixed Review, the heart of GMM. Keep in mind that you
want the green portion of Points Distribution to be larger than the purple portion to
encourage long-term retention of skills.

An improved version of Points History is already in the works and should be released this fall.
This report will provide more information like errors fixed.

Where is the Teacher Tool?
https://youtu.be/dK5JJ1Dx870

A new and improved teacher tool will be coming to the web app sometime next year. But
don’t worry, in the meantime you can display and model problems straight from the Mixed
Review menu.

How do I message or send game credits to all my students?
https://youtu.be/9euRa_d0MW4

Messages and game credits can only be sent to individual students currently. Improving the
messaging feature is high on our list of priorities for the coming year.

I have students in multiple classes, and I want to view their progress from one report, where
can I find the This Class Only option?

Currently, the web app does not support that feature. It’s possible this feature may be
released in the future.

Where are the yellow dots that indicate the skills I’ve already used in my class?

Currently, the web app does not support this feature. However, a design has been created
and is currently in the pipeline for construction. You can expect to see this feature released
in the future.

My tests are listed as Practice Sets on the Work Page. How can I get them to be tests again?
https://youtu.be/oSEt6GsTrW4

Unfortunately, java tests were not easily converted to web tests. You will need to create a
new exam in the web app and move the skills from the old exam (now Practice Set) over
from your My Work collection.

If they were locked tests, will they still be locked with my selected problems?

Locked Tests are not available in the web app. You can choose between two options – All
students see the same problems, or all students see different problems, but you do not have
the option to choose THE EXACT question they will see. This feature is on our list to create
eventually.

How do I make a locked test?

Locked Tests are not available in the web app. You can choose between two options – All

I had penalties disabled in Java for some students. When I use the web version the penalties
are turned on for those students, how do I turn them off?
https://youtu.be/4redUId99gE

Penalties needs to be disabled from the web app, as the setting did not transfer. Once they
are disabled on the web app, the setting will remain unless otherwise changed by the
teacher.

How can I print my students’ usernames and passwords?
https://youtu.be/73hRkDLLsn4

You can print usernames and passwords in the web app, but it does work differently, so
please see the video below for more details.

Can I individualize priorities for specific students (override)?
https://youtu.be/PjTuUscB770

Individualizing for specific students looks different in the web app. Instead of overriding their
priorities, you can place your student in their own class, or in multiple classes to ensure they
are working on the Skills that are relevant to them.

How do I change the points to earn a game credit on a Practice Set?
https://youtu.be/aY3OBFOIOLs

This feature is still available and easy to use, we simply moved it. When viewing the Practice
Set, click the three dots in the top right corner to change the Points to Earn a Game Credit.

Points to Start Mixed Review is gone, what is the new setting?
https://youtu.be/U7w2DTZ5Q9o

This was a simple update of terminology. When creating a Practice Set you will now set the
Points per Skill, thus setting a Practice Set Goal. Functionally this is the same as setting the
Points to Start Mixed Review.

How can I copy priorities from one of my classes or from one of my colleagues’ classes?

In the Web App, you are not able to copy priorities from one class to another or from a
colleague’s class.
